I don’t like disposable culture. It drives me crazy to think about not repairing something when it breaks. Instead to throw it away and just buy another. It’s been beaten into our heads by a consumerist culture.

My grandpa Curt built a Grandfather clock in 1983 and put his name and date on a plaque inside the door. It will follow our family for generations. Alyssa’s family passed on a dresser that’s over 100 years old with the explanation of its origins written under one of the drawer bottoms. These are pieces of furniture that stick with families. I believe this is how furniture should be. Something that lasts generations. That builds a legacy.

Ramsey Legacy Woodworks wants to help change culture, we want to give families a chance to build their legacy and leave a generational mark.

We build generational furniture (it lasts a real long time, built with real wood and old fashioned joinery, the way your great grandparents used to do it) with a unique feature of inscribing your own handwritten message on the piece for generations to remember who’s it was and when it was built.

We don’t just do BIG projects though, we also do small things like cutting boards, coasters, and wine bottle boxes inscribed with a family name or message.
